“The Lincoln Lawyer” (Netflix) Season 3. Based on the books of Michael Connelly, follows a defense attorney in Los Angeles who often works out of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Navigator. 

       Somehow, for some reason, I kind of waited till this series ran out of verve, thrill or wit. Hey, am I not getting bored of courtroom dramas and/or police procedurals? LOL! Season 1? I was satisfied. Season 2, more satisfaction. Season 3, still satisfied. And we know there'll be a Season 4. 



       For sure, the series’ attraction isn't really about the plotlines, without undermining Mr Connelly's genius. I am more enamored and entertained by the central characters.

       Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller is no Matthew McConaughey (film version) but he owns a quiet charm that is intellectually sexy as well as streetwise dirty in a way. 

       Mickey's crew: Becki Newton as Lorna Crane, Mickey's bombastically dressed legal aide delivers the light touch; Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts, Mickey's personal driver promoted as office manager, is understated energy that balances Lorna; and Angus Sampson as Cisco Wojciechowski, Mickey's go-to investigator is the muscle on the legal side. Yup, Angus’ Cisco is all-biker bad. Allyn Moriyon as Eddie Rojas, Mickey's (other) driver didn't last but he was cool, as well.

       So we are doing Season 4, whenever. 🎥📺📽

“Tulsa King.” “The Outsider.”

“Tulsa King.” (Paramount+ via Amazon) c rime drama or comedy drama or dramedy action, whatsoever suits you. I am not really a huge fan of Sylvester Stallone , regardless of “Rocky I,” but hey that was 47 years ago! Yet I need to admit that I am on Taylor Sheridan fix and I thought the writer isn’t going to lose (at least for me). Add co-creator Terence Winter of “The Sopranos” and “Boardwalk Empire” fame, plus his remarkable screenplay of Martin Scorsese 's “ The Wolf of Wall Street .”         But this Tulsa whatever is a disappointment.         Mr Stallone is Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a New York Mafia capo who has just finished serving a 25-year prison sentence. MOVIES That I Just Saw: “Dream Scenario.” / “Arizona.”

“Dream Scenario” (2023, Amazon Prime) dark comedy fantasy film written and directed by Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli , and starring Nicolas Cage. I didn't know who Mr Borgli was until this fine movie reminded me of Mr Cage in 2002's “Adaptation.”        This movie received positive reviews and was nominated for awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Nicolas Cage .        Plot take off: Sophie, a teenage girl, has a dream in which a man is raking leaves by a swimming pool. As Sophie starts floating up to the sky, she cries for help from this man whom she calls Dad. Her father, Paul Matthews (Nic) is a professor of evolutionary biology at a local university.
