“Paradise."

“Paradise” (Hulu) political thriller. Premise: Set in a city-sized underground bunker in Colorado three years after a doomsday event, the series follows United States Secret Service agent Xavier Collins as he seeks to discover the truth behind the killing of the President of the United States.

Science fiction? The premise reminds us of a similar plotline that Apple TV+'s “Silo” pursues. But regardless of the media hype that “Paradise” generates, this “thriller” doesn't thrill me that much. I guess it is just too predictable to me and the dialogues, cliché.

My indifference: Why was Agent Collins, the President's priority citizen in the giant bunker over others? What really happened to the world? A natural (environmental) collapse or a nuclear war? Unclear. And more but I don't want to spoil your interest or thoughts who'd be the assassin.

Sterling K. Brown (as Agent Collins) is a favorite by critics but here, he is one-dimensional, predictable. An intriguing character, Samantha "Sinatra" Redmond (convincingly played by Julianne Nicholson) both commands vulnerability and guilt. James Marsden as the President is fine yet still miscast. 🎥💻📽

GAVE UP. <>“The Pitt (Max) medical drama, covers one hour of a single 15-hour emergency department shift at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. In case you've already seen all 15 episodes of “ER” (1994-2009), there's no point wasting your time on this one. Not even the presence of three Filipina characters made me carry on after 5 episodes. Enough! <>“Black Doves” (Netflix) British spy thriller, about a spies-for-hire organisation that obtains secrets for the highest bidder. Too much gay intimacy, again dim lighting, and a boring pace.
