“Mum” (Britbox) Season 2. British sitcom. Lesley Manville is a recently widowed 59-year-old mom, named Cathy. She manages the death of her husband and navigates her eccentric, daft family alongside her supportive friend Michael.


       This series is witty and funny although not witty-cerebral or hilarious-funny. Just minimalist funny so enjoyable and entertaining, and smartly-written. Each character sustains an identity that helps enliven the ensemble fun. 

       Lesley Manville as the lead ties up the entire project into an addictive TV experience. And Lisa McGrillis’ Kelly is warm-funny. 🎥💻📽


“Tires” (Netflix) Season 1/2. workplace comedy. The series focuses on Will, who manages the West Chester, Pennsylvania location of his family's struggling auto-repair chain, "Valley Forge Automotive Center.”



       The jokes in Season 1 connected just fine. Made me laugh a bit. A passable living room watch, I guess. So we finished the 10-episode, 23-minute each season. Onto S2. But by episode 3, the jokes stayed as is and, worse, annoyingly inappropriate. Inappropriate, not necessarily the political kind, you know what I mean?

“Death By Lightning” (Netflix) historical drama miniseries, based on the 2011 book “ Destiny of the Republic ” by Candice Millard . Stars Michael Shannon as United States President James A. Garfield and Matthew Macfadyen as his assassin Charles J. Guiteau .         The series depicts the election and presidency of Mr Garfield , the 20th U.S. President , including his anti-corruption and pro-civil rights stances, as well as how his path crossed with Mr Guiteau , a deluded admirer, who ended up shooting him , leading to the president's death.
